Dancing class was the spark

Dancing class was the spark

They sit there, look at you in a friendly way and enjoy a life worth living in physical and mental vitality. And an anniversary to savour: they have been married for 70 years.
Babette and berthold waldmann from the neudrossenfeld suburb of neuenreuth radiate confidence, a couple who have carried each other through all the highs and lows right up to their marriage to grace. And they pass on a piece of advice: "with such a long married life there are so
some quarrels, the quick reward is important and it worked for us."
Getting to know each other was a stroke of luck that turned into a love match. Babette, now 88, saw her brother berthold, now 92, when he was attending a dance class in the "linde" leaning against the wall in langenstadt: "coarse, handsome, in a gray suit and with black curly hair, that’s where the spark came from." Berthold nods: "ich hob sa gleich am erstn omd haamgebrochd."
They still remember their wedding in 1948. It was a wonderful, warm spring day, and they celebrated at their parents’ inn in neudrossenfeld.
Both are still fit, she does the housework and knits socks for the nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and last year he still cut and chopped up eight sterers of wood.
The jubilant couple radiates optimism. Asked whether the crown jewel wedding in five years is conceivable, it comes like a shot from a pistol: "des glabst"."
Congratulators included pastor elmar croner, mayor harald hubner, deputy district administrator dieter schaar and representatives of the neuenreuth singing club. Horst wunner
